Our Dancers

Aaliyah Brown

Aaliyah began her dance career at age 10 with Southern Strutt Dance Company in Irmo. She later attended the Governor’s School for the Arts Summer Dance Program in 2010 and joined the Dazzlers Dance team under the direction of Ginny Haynes from 2011-2013. While obtaining her bachelors in Nursing at the University of South Carolina she performed in several Student Choreography Dance Showcases and joined FUSE Artist Alliance. Currently she is a choreographer and active participant of the Praise Dance Ministry at the Brook Columbia Church. She is also affiliated with Vaughn Newman Dance in Greenville, SC, along with Moving Body Dance Company helmed by Erin Bailey.  This is her second season with JoCo.

Zarriya Johnson

Zarriya Johnson was born and raised primarily in the Midwest, obtaining a degree in General Education and Criminal Justice. While studying, she began dance training in numerous styles including jazz, tap, and ballet. After graduating, Zarriya made the decision to move to Columbia, SC, where she began training in hip hop, heels and contemporary. She joined the Fuse Artist Alliance in 2018, and after a short period of training, was able to become a performer and teacher for the group. Zarriya has performed and participated in numerous projects both in and outside of South Carolina. Despite being an experienced and versatile dancer, Zarriya is always looking for new ways to grow and improve.

Shaundra Moreland

Shaundra Moreland is a native of Columbia, South Carolina. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelors in Social Work in 2018 and following her graduation, she continued into the social work profession. Though Shaundra has a passion for service, her passion for dance is just as great. From her adolescence to now, she has engaged in various forms of dancing with hip hop being her primary style of choice. Shaundra has attended dance conventions, trained and performed alongside the Fuzion Force Dance Company in Charlotte, NC and Fuse Artist Alliance located in Columbia, SC. Shaundra hopes to continue perfecting her craft and to one day make dancing a profession.

Sarah Nichols

Sarah Nichols is a dancer, writer, and activist in Columbia, SC. Sarah started studying dance at the age of 8, primarily focusing on ballet and contemporary with the Classical Ballet Centre in Summerville, SC. In high school she spent a summer at the SC Summer Dance Conservatory at the University of South Carolina. She continued dancing in college with FUSE Artist Alliance, where she performed and taught contemporary and jazz dance classes. Currently, Sarah focuses primarily on contemporary dance and is a member of The Johnson Company and Moving Body Dance Company. She has recently been interested in expanding her movement horizons with hip hop, heels, yoga, and aerial yoga, and she loves storytelling

through dance.

Grace Steptoe

Grace Steptoe is a dancer and graphic designer from Columbia, SC. Grace studied classical ballet for 16 years at the Columbia Conservatory of Dance, performed as a junior member of Columbia City Ballet, and practiced other forms of dance in high school. Grace also attended summer dance intensives at Joffrey Ballet School.  After graduating from Dutch Fork High School, she became a corps member of Columbia City Ballet for a season. Grace has performed with Columbia City Ballet as well as the University of South Carolina Dance Company. Currently, she studies contemporary, hip hop, ballet, musical theatre, and movement of any kind.
